We cannot recommend this support highly enough.
Our child has a complex AuDHD profile and had reached a severe state of neurodivergent burnout, leaving them medically unable to access a traditional school environment. For months, extreme anxiety and difficulties with working memory meant they were operating in survival mode, and their confidence and self-esteem had fallen significantly.
It took considerable patience, deep relational trust and a genuinely low-demand approach to help establish a routine in which our child felt safe and secure. Although we know there is still a way to go, the change in their confidence, happiness and self-esteem has been extremely encouraging.
What has made such a difference is the ability to build a relationship first. Our child is now comfortable sharing space with an educator, genuinely looks forward to sessions and is happily engaging in an interest-led project that keeps learning relaxed, meaningful and free from unnecessary pressure.
The depth of SEND knowledge and understanding behind the approach is clear, particularly in relation to complex AuDHD profiles, neurodivergent burnout and trauma-informed practice. There is a real understanding that anxiety can mask a young person’s true capabilities, and the support is flexible and responsive enough to recognise this. Cognitive load is carefully managed, choices are broken down into smaller and more manageable options, and there is never pressure to perform simply for the sake of following a rigid curriculum.
Most importantly, our child’s individual communication style is respected, with emotional safety, connection and trust prioritised before academic demands. This has completely changed their relationship with the idea of learning.
After a period of intense distress, this is the first professional support that has successfully begun to unlock our child’s confidence and willingness to engage. We remain incredibly grateful for the expertise, patience and understanding that continue to support their journey.

The consultancy support provided to our specialist SEND school was wide-ranging and had a significant impact across careers education and strategy, Gatsby Benchmark development, Preparing for Adulthood, work experience, enterprise education, curriculum design, thematic planning, Schemes of Learning, teaching and learning improvement, staff coaching and mentoring, quality assurance, SEND leadership, policy development, staff training and parent/carer engagement.
Before the consultancy began, our key priorities were to develop our careers and enrichment provision, strengthen staff development and update key policies. The support we received made a significant contribution across all of these areas and extended beyond the original brief where additional needs were identified.
Our careers website was transformed to an outstanding standard, and a new school-based enterprise initiative was developed in a highly professional way. A clear and detailed Careers Policy was produced, new contacts were established to support work experience opportunities, and areas where staff would benefit from additional support were identified. Practical support plans were then developed to strengthen professional practice.
Across every area of our review, the consultancy was rated at the highest level. The support demonstrated strong knowledge of SEND and inclusive education, alongside a clear understanding of the individual needs, values and context of our school. Advice and recommendations were practical, achievable and responsive to our setting. Resources and documentation were consistently produced to a high professional standard, communication with staff and leaders was clear and effective, and new ideas were introduced that strengthened both our systems and provision.
The impact was evident across leadership, staff development, curriculum, careers, Preparing for Adulthood, policy, quality assurance, pupil experience and communication. Of particular importance was the support provided to a senior teacher, alongside the extensive work undertaken to develop our careers provision and website. This had a clear and positive impact on staff knowledge, confidence and professional practice.
The development of our enterprise provision and careers website were two particularly strong examples of work that made a real difference. Importantly, the consultancy also went beyond the original brief, identifying needs through observation and professional insight and introducing additional support where it was clear this would improve provision for pupils.
The approach throughout was consistently positive, effective and responsive. The depth of knowledge and experience brought to the school was evident across every aspect of the work, and everything undertaken had a positive impact. We would describe the support as valuable, effective and positively significant.
We would have no hesitation in recommending this consultancy to another school. As we reflected during the review, “You get more than you hoped for.” The support provided was a valuable asset to our school, and we received an outstanding level of service across every area where support was required.
The consultancy was knowledgeable, professional, hardworking and highly attentive to detail, with consistently valuable and high-quality documentation produced throughout. The quality of the service, depth of expertise, understanding of our school’s needs and the impact of the work were exceptional.
We would highly recommend this service to other schools, trusts and specialist provisions.
